Early 20th century
Large sample of velvet (inc. the selvedge) attached to a cardboard label. The cloth has a design of isolated black rosettes (velvet) on a voided ground. The ground has grey and black checks. There are smaller samples of the same black velvet pattern but with the ground in different colourways.
