French civillians give American armored units an enthusiastic welcome as they turn off the road to bivouac. These troops are part of the armored forces who made the lightning advance to the Loire which out off the Whole of Brittany with its three great ports and U-boat bases of Brest, Lorient and St. Nazaire.
